Welcome to UpBeat Music Together!

Developed in 1987 by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, Music Together® is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for families with children birth through 5 years. With classes currently taught world-wide, Music Together pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate music curriculum that facilitates adult involvement. Through informal instruction, classes provide an engaging, playful, and non-performance-oriented learning environment that emphasizes actual music experiences rather than concepts about music.

Music Together classes build on your child(ren)'s natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We believe that music ability is as much a basic life skill as walking or talking, and that all children can achieve basic music competence -- i.e. learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate in music-making with confidence and pleasure -- provided that their early environment supports such learning.

Music Together classes offer your family a chance to play, to make music, and to learn about children's music development. During the early years, it is extremely important that parents and caregivers be the ones who create a nurturing environment. Children are biologically "wired" to respond most to those with whom they have close bonds. Music Together classes help you build that bond, regardless of your musical background and abilities.  If adults have fun making music, children will, too. So join us in introducing your child(ren) to the pleasures of making music . . . together!
